Advertisers will pay a premium for their ads to appear in this article, but the free ad space they will pay for will be almost nil, according to AdFreak.
The site has found that some companies can earn as much as $1,000 for a single ad run in its free-to-air ad space.
AdFreak has also found that the average paid spend per viewer is just $15 per ad, or less than the price of a single click through to a news website.
However, there is no shortage of sites that can offer a better deal than that, with sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter offering hundreds of dollars per ad.
A number of people have tried to build ad campaigns online for free, but AdFreack says there are plenty of ways to get started.
