Birmingham police officer suspended after posting online video of himself urinating on the ground

Police in Alabama have suspended a man after posting a video online of himself performing a sex act on the pavement.

The video shows the officer standing in the middle of the street with his arms outstretched.

He says: ‘I’ll do it again.’

Police Chief Jim Leach said the incident happened in October at a Birmingham church.

The officer, identified as Robert M. Williams, posted the video on the website of the Baptist Church of Birmingham, where he was a pastor.

The video sparked outrage on social media and prompted calls for his resignation.

Leach said Monday the video shows a person performing an act in public.

‘The video itself was inappropriate and was not representative of the entire event,’ he said in a statement.’

The officer’s actions were unprofessional and unacceptable and we are investigating.’

Williams, who works in the parking lot of the church, had previously been charged with criminal trespass and trespassing, according to court records.

He had not been arrested.

He had been hired by the church in June and is a member of its leadership group, Leach added.

Williams was not immediately available for comment Monday.
